True North™ Kentucky Coffeetree | Gymnocladus dioicus 'UMNSynergy'
Photo and description by Bailey Nurseries.
True North™ has an upright vase-shape that resembles the classic Elm form. The dark green bi-pinnately compound leaves turn yellow in the fall and provide dappled shade. A male selection that is fruitless. Attractive dark scaly bark in the winter. Adaptable to a range of soil types including alkaline. Tolerant of urban conditions including cold, heat, and drought. A University of Minnesota introduction.
