We will notify you when your bare root plants are ready approx. mid April. Bare root are best planted soon after pick up. Bare root asparagus can be planted approx. mid-late April in central MN, or when the ground is workable.
Millennium asparagus, developed by Prof. David Wolyn, Univ. of Guelph, Canada, has become a major contributor to the Ontario asparagus industry. In trial, Millennium has been productive, with high quality spears, tender, and has good flavor. Thought to be best adapted to heavier soils, but results from grower survey indicate success with a wide range of soil types. We recommend trials under your conditions to assess its performance.
